The town of Vidin offers a rich cultural life combined with natural beauty. The Art Gallery, the Drama Theater and the Danube riverbank park create a common urban space open to the Danube.

The gallery is housed in the beautiful building of the former Military Club, erected in 1892 on the foundations of an old fortress gate. The gallery was founded in 1962 and is named after the Vidin artist Nikola Petrov. The gallery has three departments – “Painting”, “Graphics” and “Sculpture”, which contain more than 1300 works by Bulgarian and foreign artists.

“Vida” theater was built in 1891 with funds collected by an initiative committee. This is the first building in Bulgaria designed for theater purposes. Here you will find a rich theater repertoire.

The Danube riverbank park beautifully links many attractions and offers plenty of recreation opportunities, children’s playgrounds and monuments.
