Welcome to “Yailata” Protected Area!
“Yailata” is a picturesque place, which represents a terrace cut into the steep and rocky seafront, hardly accessible from the sea and the land.
One of the legends about “Yaillata” tells that the Roman poet Ovid has spent his last days here.
The nature of this place is rich and interesting with numerous birds and animals inhabiting the area. No less valuable are the archaeological finds discovered at “Yailata”. Here you can see a late antique fortress, rock necropolises and cave columns.
The reserve is open to visitors all year round, but the best time to visit is from April to October.
