Welcome to the “Krastata Kazarma” (The Cross Barracks) Museum!
Krastata Kazarma is a remarkable building of local significance, which today has the functions of a museum. It was built by Osman Pazvantoglu during the Ottoman period by Prussian engineers to be used as barracks. About 500 Janissaries lived there. Viewed from above, the building has the shape of a regular cross from where it gets its name.
The inner lounges are impressive, beautiful and suitable for a variety of cultural events and events. An ethnographic exhibition is organized in the building, presenting the traditional culture of the Vidin region from the end of the XIXth century to the beginning of the XXth century.
Krastata Kazarma is located close to the city center, the Baba Vida Fortress and the Museum “Konaka”.
