Welcome to the Shabla lake!
Shabla Lake is located in Northeastern Bulgaria, at 5 km from the town of Shabla.
The total area of the protected site is 5312 dca. The territory includes also two coastal firths – Shabla lake and Ezeretsko lake. They are connected to each other by a canal. There are 247 species of birds on the territory of the site, some of which are included in the Red Data Book of Bulgaria – a list of endangered species in the country.
In the autumn-winter seasons, you can see globally endangered species such as the white-headed duck, the Dalmatian pelican and the pygmy cormorant.
Shabla Lake is a desirable destination for ornithologists, nature lovers, family walks and recreation.
