The history of the Teleorman County Museum begins in 1934. As of 1974, the Alexandria History Museum becomes the Teleorman County Museum. The museum hosts a significant collection of archaeology, mainly from the neolithical and Getic-Dacian ages, as well as a coin collection represented by a range of coin treasures discovered in the area. A valuable regional ethnographic collection is also exhibited here.
