The Lower Danube Museum of Calarasi, established in 1950, mirrors the history of the area. The permanent exhibition provides the public with rich thematic exhibitions of ethnography, popular art, modern and contemporary Romanian art. The heritage section illustrates the evolution of Danube communities from prehistory to the end of Antiquity.
