The Esmahan Sultan Mosque is one of the oldest Muslim religious buildings in Romania. The Esmahan Sultan Mosque was built in 1573 in memory of one of the most important rulers of the Ottoman Empire at that time, Selim II, by his daughter, Esma. The mosque is surrounded by a Muslim cemetery, equally valuable through its age, both in cultural and spiritual terms, with tombs more than 300 years old.
