One of the most sought after entertainment areas in Craiova is the “Nicolae Romanescu” Park, the third largest city park in Europe. The park covers 90 hectares and was made in 1903 by an initiative of Nicolae Romanescu, Craiova’s mayor at that time. Hundreds of rare trees were acclimatized. The central point of the park is the four-hectare lake. The people of Craiova meet here every day to jog, ride their bikes or roller skate.
