Culas are fortified dwellings specific to Oltenia, with a ground floor and a first floor, with thick brick walls and a castellated tower. Two culas in Cerneti are found within a small distance: the Tudor Vladimirescu Cula from 1800 and the Nistor Cula from 1812. The Cerneti commune of Mehedinti also hosts several other cultural and historical sights worth visiting.
