The idea of establishing the Romanati museum arose in the second half of the 19th century, as the Roman vestiges of Romula became the focus of renowned archaeologists. The museum was established in 1949 with the purpose of perserving the historical heritage discovered in the area. The museum hosts more than 20,000 items and is organised in four sections: Archaeology; In memoriam of Iancu Jianu; Painting and Ethnography
