“The park for culture and rest”, as the “Constantin Poroineanu” Park was once known, was designed and executed by the French landscaping architects Pinard and Rédont. It is located near the administrative centre of Caracal and covers a surface of 25 hectares. Starting from the monument of Mihai Eminescu and stopping near Obogeanu Lake, we find the Poplar Alley, which is 1200 m long. The park is home to some rare plants, such as the Ginkgo biloba tree, the bald cypress, the grayish oak, the tree of life and the black pine.
